The lab has one computer, called Toto, dedicated to importing lookit videos and coding baby looking time videos. We use a dedicated computer because we want to:
ensure confidential videos are securely stored all in one place
maintain consistency across coders, since they all use the same computer
You can code on Toto either in the lab or remotely.
To be able to remotely access Toto, you'll need access to the SAS VPN. You can request access using this form.
Our LSP is Nick Marziani, and our LSP Support Team is the linguistics team.
Under "What SAS resource do you need access to?", you should select Remote Desktop.
On the following page, you can explain that this is for remotely accessing a computer in the Child Language Lab.
You should receive an email from Linguistics Computing with instructions on how to install Forticlient and use it to connect to the VPN. You can contact them with any questions you might have about this!
Only one person can work on Toto at a time (remotely or in person) so you'll need to reserve time to work on it. Use the following link to reserve time:
You can either work in the lab or access Toto remotely from your own computer!
The computer is located in our study room (it's labeled as being for coding using ELAN). To log in, select "labuser" as the user. You can find the password on LastPass in our Lab Passwords list.
Note that you'll need SAS VPN access to connect to the computer remotely.
